Comments by FLOW

The opening theme of the television anime “Tales of Zestiria the X” (TOZ-X) is performed by FLOW!
We asked composer and guitarist TAKE for his comments!

――What is your impression of the “Tale of” series?

Not only is it the series’ 20th anniversary, it’s an epic role-playing game that we’ve loved and continued to play since we were in our teens.

――What kind of discussions did you have prior to composing the piece for “TOZ-X”?

I met with the director and key staff members to get a feel of how they viewed the series and what ideas they had for the music, then I started working on it. It’s the first time that I’ve worked so closely and exchanged views with the production side.

―― Is there anything that you particularly focused on when composing the “TOZ-X” theme?

This series has such a sense of fantasy and an epic world view. So the top priority was to capture that in the sound and infuse it with the same majesty.

―― Is there anything that really concerned you when composing the “TOZ-X” theme?

I composed several pieces for this tag and asked the staff for input, and I tried to be very careful to create something that had a joint vision.

――Do you have a message for the fans?

It’s an honor to be part of the important milestone of the “Tales of” series through music. We’ve done our best to cherish the long history of the “Tale of” series and the worldview it was nurtured while creating a theme that is uniquely FLOW. I hope that fans will enjoy the music and the anime.
